There is a place for you in this work

Every story in the archive exists because someone volunteered their time — a student who asked, an elder who answered, and a mentor who made it possible.

Students

Middle school through college

Create an account, complete the training modules, and start with an interview in your own ʻohana. You'll be paired with a mentor and a partner organization on your island.

Mentors

Teachers, coaches, kumu

Guide a small cohort of students through scheduling, protocol, and review. Mentors approve consent forms and help decide what is ready for the archive.

Organizations

Schools, nonprofits, libraries

Host a cohort, connect students with kūpuna in your community, or provide space and equipment for recording sessions.
